Omar Khaled Mohamed Marmoush

Omar Marmoush spent his formative years at the Wadi Degla FC youth academy in Cairo, Egypt, from 2005 to 2016. He balanced his secondary education in Egypt with an intense athletic development program before relocating to Germany as a teenager to pursue professional football.

Omar Marmoush began his professional football journey in the youth ranks of Wadi Degla FC in Egypt, where his raw speed and technical flair quickly caught the attention of scouts. He made his senior debut for the club in the Egyptian Premier League, showcasing flashes of the immense potential that would eventually take him to the highest echelons of the sport. His performances earned him a transfer to Germany's VfL Wolfsburg in 2017.

Initially joining Wolfsburg's reserve team, Marmoush worked tirelessly to adapt to the rigorous demands of European football. Seeking regular first-team action, he embarked on a crucial loan spell to 2. Bundesliga side FC St. Pauli during the 2020–2021 season. This experience proved highly beneficial, as he scored several important goals and gained valuable confidence on the pitch.

The following season, Marmoush was loaned out once again, this time to top-flight side VfB Stuttgart. He made an immediate impact, contributing significantly to their attacking output and proving his capability to compete in one of Europe's top five leagues. His consistent growth caught the eye of Eintracht Frankfurt, who signed him on a free transfer ahead of the 2023–2024 campaign.

At Eintracht Frankfurt, Marmoush truly blossomed into a world-class center-forward. He became the focal point of their attack, delivering a prolific goal-scoring season that established him as one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe. His dynamic performances in both domestic and European competitions prompted Manchester City to secure his services in January 2025 for an impressive €75 million transfer fee.

By 2026, Marmoush has established himself as a dynamic attacking option for Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. He has delivered vital goals, including a recent strike against Crystal Palace that kept City firmly in the Premier League title race. Despite strong competition for a starting spot alongside Erling Haaland, his stellar contributions have attracted intense interest from global heavyweights like Barcelona, marking him as one of Egypt's most successful football exports.

Omar Marmoush was born and raised in Cairo, Egypt, to parents holding Canadian citizenship, which grants him dual nationality.
