Mahfuz Ahmed

Mahfuz Ahmed spent his early educational years in his hometown before moving to the capital city for higher studies. He was known to be a dedicated student with a growing interest in the performing arts.

He eventually enrolled at the prestigious University of Dhaka. It was during his time at the university that his passion for acting truly blossomed, paving the way for his future career in the entertainment industry.

Mahfuz Ahmed's acting career began in 1990, heavily inspired by the renowned writer and filmmaker Humayun Ahmed. He initially gained recognition through his compelling performances in various television dramas. His natural acting style and strong screen presence quickly made him a favorite among television audiences.

His cinematic breakthrough came when he starred in Humayun Ahmed's critically acclaimed films, "Srabon Megher Din" (2000) and "Dui Duari" (2000). These roles solidified his position as a leading man in the Bangladeshi film industry. He continued to deliver stellar performances in movies like "Megher Pore Megh" and Tauquir Ahmed's "Joyjatra" (2004).

In 2005, Mahfuz reached a major milestone when he won his first Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actor for his role in "Lal Sabuj." This achievement cemented his reputation as one of the finest actors of his generation. He continued to balance his film career with highly successful television appearances.

Demonstrating his entrepreneurial spirit, Mahfuz Ahmed established his own production house named "Nokshikatha." Through this company, he has produced and directed numerous high-quality television dramas and telefilms. His work behind the camera has been praised for its strong storytelling and production values.

He secured his second Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actor for his outstanding performance in the 2015 thriller "Zero Degree." Even after decades in the industry, Mahfuz Ahmed remains a dynamic force in Bangladeshi entertainment, continuously evolving and taking on challenging new roles.

Mahfuz Ahmed was born in the village of Jagatpur in Ramganj Upazila of Lakshmipur District. He grew up in a supportive environment that eventually encouraged him to pursue his creative passions. Despite his celebrity status, he is known to maintain a relatively private personal life.

On November 17, 2000, he married Ishrat Jahan Quader. She is the daughter of prominent Bangladeshi politician GM Quader and works as a senior lecturer at a private university. The couple shares a strong bond and frequently supports each other's professional endeavors.

Mahfuz and Ishrat are the proud parents of two children: a daughter named Mourin Aradhya Ahmed, born in 2012, and a son named Marvin Ahmed Aritra, born in 2015. When he is not acting or producing, Mahfuz enjoys spending quality time with his family and engaging in various philanthropic activities within his community.
