Dilshad Nahar Kona

Kona began her early academic journey at Moghbazar Girls High School in Dhaka, where she simultaneously nurtured her growing interest in the performing arts.

She later pursued higher secondary education at Lalmatia College in Dhaka, successfully balancing her academic responsibilities with her burgeoning musical commitments.

To refine her vocal capabilities, she formally studied Nazrul Geeti at the esteemed Nazrul Academy, receiving classical training that heavily influenced her professional technique.

Dilshad Nahar Kona initiated her professional musical journey as a member of the pioneering female band Angels Four. Formed under the mentorship of S.I. Tutul and Shopon between 2003 and 2006, the band provided Kona with essential stage experience and industry exposure. This collaborative environment allowed her to develop her signature vocal style and build early connections within the music business.

Following the disbandment of Angels Four, Kona successfully launched her highly anticipated solo career in 2006. She released her debut studio album, "Jamitik Bhalobasha," which was met with immediate commercial success and critical praise. The album established her as a formidable solo artist and paved the way for a series of successful subsequent projects.

Kona further solidified her mainstream popularity by transitioning into the highly competitive world of film playback singing. She lent her voice to numerous successful movie soundtracks, quickly becoming a favorite among top-tier music directors. Her dynamic vocal performances added emotional depth to various cinematic narratives, earning her widespread recognition from moviegoers.

In addition to her film work, Kona has released several successful solo albums, including "Simply Kona," and has collaborated with prominent artists like Fuad and Tahsan. She was also chosen as one of the seven singers to perform the official theme song for the 2014 ICC World Twenty20 tournament. Her diverse portfolio showcases her ability to effortlessly switch between romantic ballads, energetic pop anthems, and classical-inspired tracks.

Throughout the 2020s, Kona has continued to dominate the playback industry with back-to-back hit singles. Her remarkable contribution to the film "Bishwoshundori" with the song "Tui Ki Amar Hobi Re" earned her the prestigious Bangladesh National Film Award. Dilshad Nahar Kona was born and raised in a culturally supportive family in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Her parents recognized her musical aptitude early on and actively encouraged her to pursue formal vocal training, laying the foundation for her future success.

In 2019, Kona married Golam Mohammad Iftekhar in a private ceremony surrounded by close friends and family. The couple shared several years together before publicly announcing their mutual decision to separate, finalizing their divorce amicably in June 2025.
