Saranga Shrestha trained extensively at the Sanskritik Sansthan in Nepal during her early years, where she mastered traditional and classical dance forms.

Saranga Shrestha's career began with a deep passion for traditional performing arts in Nepal. She enrolled at the prestigious Sanskritik Sansthan, where she honed her skills in classical dance and theatrical performance. This rigorous training provided her with the expressive tools necessary to excel in front of the camera.

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, she transitioned into the mainstream Nepali film industry. Her cinematic debut quickly led to a series of highly successful projects that showcased her remarkable versatility. She became widely recognized for her exceptional dancing abilities, which became a highlight of her film roles.

Among her most notable film credits are culturally significant movies such as Aago, Sindur Pote, and Sarangi. Her performance in Yo Maya Ko Sagar further solidified her status as a leading actress of her generation. These films resonated deeply with Nepali audiences and achieved substantial commercial success.

As the industry evolved, Saranga remained a beloved figure, participating in numerous cultural events and stage shows. Her stage performances often drew large crowds, eager to witness her dynamic dance routines live. She maintained a strong connection to her roots, regularly advocating for the preservation of local arts.

In recent years, she has shifted her focus toward teaching and mentoring young artists. Saranga Shrestha maintains a relatively private personal life despite her public persona. After her initial marriage to an American national ended in divorce, she found love again within the non-resident Nepali community.

In 2012, she married Ramesh Karki, and the couple subsequently settled in Baltimore, Maryland. They have built a stable and fulfilling life together in the United States, raising their daughter in a culturally rich environment.

Outside of her professional commitments, she is passionate about community building and cultural philanthropy. She frequently participates in diaspora events, using her platform to promote Nepali heritage and traditions abroad.
