Sarika completed her early education in Chittagong before moving to the capital city. She relocated to Dhaka to pursue her higher studies and simultaneously build her burgeoning career in the media industry.

Her very first significant opportunity came when she was cast in a commercial for Aromatic Beauty soap, directed by the acclaimed Amitabh Reza Chowdhury. This television advertisement aired in 2008 and immediately propelled her into the spotlight. The commercial was so successful that it earned her the prestigious Bachsas Award in the critics' choice category for best female model.

Following this initial breakthrough, Sarika's career trajectory skyrocketed as she became a highly sought-after face for major corporate brands. Her father, Shafier Rahman, held a senior executive position at a bank, while her mother, Rozi Rahman, worked as the principal of an English medium school. Growing up alongside her elder brother, Sarika initially aspired to pursue a career in aviation as a pilot. However, encouraged by her peers, she soon discovered a passion for modeling, participating in ramp walks during her school years before eventually relocating to Dhaka for higher studies.

In her personal relationships, Sarika has experienced a journey of love, growth, and transitions. She first married businessman Mahim Karim on August 12, 2014, and the couple welcomed a beautiful daughter named Shehrish Karim. Although Sarika and Mahim separated and officially divorced in 2016, she remained deeply committed to co-parenting her daughter and focusing on her professional resurgence.

On February 2, 2022, Sarika found love once again and tied the knot with B. Ahmed Razi, a textile engineer and musician.
