Riaz Uddin Ahamed Siddique

Riaz completed his early education at St. Joseph High School, where he was known as a disciplined and focused student. Following his high school graduation, he aimed for a military career and successfully passed the exams to join the Bangladesh Air Force.

While undergoing intensive flight training at the BAF Academy, he also pursued higher academic studies. He successfully earned a Bachelor of Science degree affiliated with Rajshahi University.

Riaz's professional life began not in cinema, but in the skies. He joined the Bangladesh Air Force in 1989 and was commissioned as a Pilot Officer in 1991. After receiving specialized training in Turkey, he served as a fighter pilot until a misunderstanding led to his departure from the military in 1993.

Relocating to Dhaka in 1994, his life took a dramatic turn when he met his cousin, actress Bobita. She encouraged him to try acting, leading to his cinematic debut in the 1995 film "Hero of Bengal." Although his first film was not a massive hit, it opened the door to the industry.

His true breakthrough arrived in 1997 with Mohammad Hannan's romantic blockbuster "Praner Cheye Priyo." The film's immense success catapulted Riaz to superstardom, establishing him as Dhallywood's ultimate romantic hero. He formed highly successful on-screen pairings with top actresses of the era, most notably Shabnur and Purnima.

Throughout the 2000s, Riaz delivered a string of critically and commercially successful films. He won his first National Film Award for Best Actor for "Dui Duari" (2000) and went on to win two more for "Daruchini Dwip" (2007) and "Ki Jadu Korila" (2008). His ability to balance commercial potboilers with literary adaptations showcased his remarkable range.

In recent years, Riaz has expanded his footprint in the industry by venturing into production and business. While he has reduced his frequency of acting roles, his occasional appearances in television and film continue to be highly anticipated by his loyal fan base.

Riaz was born into an aristocratic Muslim family in the Faridpur District of Bangladesh. He is the youngest of seven children, with six older sisters and one brother. He lost his father, Zainuddin Ahamed Siddique, at the tender age of 16, a tragedy that prompted his move to Jessore.

On December 18, 2007, Riaz married Mushfika Tina in a traditional Muslim wedding ceremony. Tina is a trained dance teacher and a well-known media personality in her own right. The couple is blessed with a daughter and they are known for maintaining a strong, supportive relationship.

Outside of his professional commitments, Riaz is heavily involved in business ventures and social work. He often utilizes his public platform to support charitable initiatives and advocate for positive social change in Bangladesh.
