Ollie Watkins attended South Dartmoor Community College in Ashburton, Devon, during his early teenage years.

He effectively balanced his general education with his developing grassroots football career, completing his secondary studies before committing to the Exeter City academy.

Ollie Watkins' professional journey began at the Exeter City academy, which he joined at the under-11 level after an initial unsuccessful trial. He steadily progressed through the youth ranks and made his senior debut for the club in 2014. A highly successful loan spell at non-league Weston-super-Mare helped build his physical resilience, allowing him to return and become a key first-team player for Exeter, eventually winning the EFL Young Player of the Year award.
