Nishant attended school in Rohtak while simultaneously beginning his rigorous cricket training. He formally honed his skills at the Shri Ram Narain Cricket Academy, balancing his educational requirements with intense daily net sessions.

Nishant Sindhu's cricketing journey took flight in the junior domestic circuits of India, where his all-round capabilities quickly set him apart. He first gained national attention during the 2017 Shruv Pandove Tournament, delivering a spectacular performance with 290 runs and 24 wickets. This momentum carried into the 2018–19 Vijay Merchant Trophy, where he amassed 572 runs and 23 wickets, guiding the Haryana U-16 team to a memorable championship victory. His ability to perform consistently in knockout situations made him a natural leader among his peers.

His domestic excellence culminated in his selection for the Indian Under-19 squad. Sindhu was a crucial component of the team that won the ACC U19 Asia Cup in 2021, providing essential balance as a spin-bowling all-rounder.
