In December 2012, Monalisa married Faiyaaz Sharif, a non-resident Bangladeshi businessman based in the United States. Following her marriage, she relocated to New York to focus on her personal life and explore new opportunities abroad. The couple ultimately parted ways, finalizing their divorce in 2014, after which Monalisa chose to remain in the US to build an independent life.
