Khairul Basar pursued his higher education at the prestigious University of Dhaka, initially moving to the city with a keen interest in studying music.

During his time at the university, he became heavily involved in campus-based co-curricular activities, which ultimately pivoted his focus toward theater and professional stage performance. This academic environment heavily shaped his intellectual approach to character building.

Khairul Basar's performing arts journey began during his time at the University of Dhaka, where he was deeply inspired by mime artist Mir Lokman. He subsequently joined Dhaka University Mime Action, performing in nearly 400 mime shows across the country between 2011 and 2017. This extensive stage experience honed his physical acting skills and prepared him for a highly successful transition to the screen.

Basar made his on-screen debut in 2017 with the short film 'Punorabritti,' directed by Saleh Sobhan Anim. His naturalistic acting style immediately drew attention, leading to his cinematic debut in 2018 with 'Iti, Tomari Dhaka,' Bangladesh's first anthology film. This critically acclaimed project, which eventually streamed on Netflix, established him as a serious talent in the independent film circuit.

His breakthrough in mainstream television came in 2020 when he starred in the popular fiction series 'Close-up Kache Ashar Golpo,' specifically the episode 'Tomar Pashe Hatte Diyo.' That same year, he delivered a compelling performance in the feature film 'Unoponchash Batash,' further expanding his growing fan base. He consistently demonstrated an ability to anchor emotionally complex narratives with understated brilliance.

The year 2021 marked a massive turning point for Basar as he dominated the Bangladeshi OTT space with two consecutive hit releases. He starred in the Chorki web film 'Networker Baire' and the immensely popular web series 'Mohanagar,' cementing his status as a leading digital star. His performances in these highly praised thrillers earned him widespread recognition and several award nominations.

Basar's career continued to soar as he won the Bangladesh Excellence Award for Best Actor in 2023 and the Meril-Prothom Alo Award for Best TV Actor in 2024. He also made a triumphant return to theatrical releases with a starring role in the Eid 2024 film 'Kajolrekha.' Continuing to prioritize rich, story-driven scripts, he remains one of the busiest and most respected actors working in Bangladesh today.

Khairul Basar is known for his incredibly grounded and humble personality, maintaining the exact same lifestyle he enjoyed before achieving mainstream stardom. Despite his demanding schedule, he prioritizes his family and frequently visits his hometown of Mymensingh to stay connected to his roots.
