Gregor Kobel

Gregor Kobel spent his early developmental years in the youth setups of local clubs in Zurich before joining the prestigious Grasshoppers academy in 2014.

He honed his fundamental goalkeeping skills at Grasshoppers for two years, absorbing elite tactical knowledge before moving to Germany to finalize his youth education at TSG Hoffenheim.

Gregor Kobel's professional football journey began to take shape when he joined the youth setup of TSG Hoffenheim in Germany, moving away from his native Switzerland to pursue top-level competition. He made his professional debut for Hoffenheim in August 2018 during a DFB-Pokal match, keeping a clean sheet and showcasing his immense potential. His outstanding form caught the attention of Borussia Dortmund, who signed him to a long-term contract in the summer of 2021.
