Apu Biswas was raised in a culturally vibrant environment in Bogura, where she completed her primary and secondary education. She attended local educational institutions while simultaneously developing a strong interest in performing arts from a very young age.

She received formal training in classical dance at the Shilpakala Academy in Bogura. This rigorous artistic education not only honed her dancing skills but also provided her with the discipline required to succeed in the demanding environment of the film industry.

Apu Biswas made her initial foray into the Bangladeshi film industry in 2006 with the critically acclaimed movie Kal Shokale, directed by Amjad Hossain. While she played a supporting role, her impressive performance immediately caught the attention of prominent directors and producers in Dhallywood. This early exposure helped her secure more significant opportunities and laid the foundation for her future success in commercial cinema.

Her major breakthrough came later that same year when she was cast as the lead actress in the blockbuster romantic comedy Koti Takar Kabin, directed by F.I. Manik. Starring opposite Shakib Khan, the film was a massive commercial success and instantly propelled her to superstardom. The movie not only established her as a bankable leading lady but also birthed a legendary on-screen pairing that would dominate the box office for the next decade.

Following the tremendous success of Koti Takar Kabin, Apu and Shakib went on to star in more than 75 films together. Hits like Chachchu, Dadima, and Pitar Ason cemented her position as the reigning queen of Dhallywood. Throughout the late 2000s, she was the highest-paid and most sought-after actress in the country, known for her dedication, punctuality, and ability to draw massive crowds to theaters.

As the 2010s progressed, she continued to showcase her versatility by taking on more challenging and diverse roles. In 2013, she played the iconic character of Parvati in the highly anticipated Bangladeshi remake of the classic novel Devdas. Her nuanced and emotional portrayal in this tragic romance earned her widespread critical acclaim and demonstrated her growth as a serious dramatic actress.

In recent years, Apu has continued to remain active in the entertainment industry, both as an actress and a film producer. She successfully produced the government-funded film Lal Shari in 2023, showcasing her entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to promoting traditional Bengali culture. Apu Biswas was born to Upendronath Biswas and Shefali Biswas, growing up as the youngest among three sisters and one brother in a close-knit Hindu family. She has always remained deeply connected to her roots in Bogura and frequently expresses her immense gratitude for the unwavering support her parents provided during her early career.

Her high-profile marriage to superstar Shakib Khan in 2008 was kept secret for nearly a decade before she publicly revealed it on live television with their son, Abraam Khan Joy. Following their divorce in 2018, Apu has embraced life as a strong, independent single mother, dedicating her free time to raising her son with love and care.
