Zayyan Ahmed

Zayyan Ahmed attended Heritage High School in Virginia, establishing a strong foundation for his athletic future. He subsequently joined the Virginia Tech men's soccer program in 2022, balancing collegiate athletics with higher education before briefly transferring to George Mason University.

Zayyan Ahmed's football journey began with youth soccer at Loudoun SC, where he spent five formative years developing his defensive skills and tactical awareness. His early exposure to structured, high-level training programs in the United States provided him with a solid technical foundation. His natural talent and dedication were evident early on, leading him to successfully pursue collegiate soccer opportunities.

In 2022, Ahmed committed to the Virginia Tech men's soccer program, marking a significant step in his athletic development. He made 10 competitive appearances for the Hokies during the 2022–2023 season, gaining valuable physical experience at the demanding collegiate level. He later transferred to George Mason University for the 2024–2025 season, though his focus increasingly shifted towards securing professional football contracts.

Ahmed's professional breakthrough occurred when he transitioned to competitive club football in the Middle East. In February 2026, he officially signed with Rimal Al-Sahra SC, a club competing in the UAE Third Division League. He quickly adapted to the new environment and made his debut in a UAE Federation Cup match, marking the official start of his senior professional club career.

Internationally, Ahmed's strong family heritage opened doors for him to represent Bangladesh. Following successful and rigorous trials in mid-2025, he was selected for the Bangladesh U23 preliminary squad for the AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualifiers. He made his official U23 debut in a challenging friendly against Bahrain, showcasing his defensive abilities on the international stage.

His highly impressive youth performances quickly led to a well-deserved senior national team call-up. By late 2025, he was fully integrated into the Bangladesh preliminary squad for crucial AFC Asian Cup qualification matches. His seamless integration into the national setup highlights his growing importance to the team's long-term defensive structure.

Zayyan Ahmed was born into a family with incredibly strong and passionate ties to football. His father, Sharif Ahmed, is a respected former footballer who played First Division football in Bangladesh for Eskaton Sabuj Sangha. This rich familial legacy undoubtedly influenced Zayyan's lifelong passion for the sport and his eventual proud decision to represent Bangladesh globally.
