Tripurana Vijay completed his primary education in Tekkali, Andhra Pradesh. He later pursued his higher studies at an institution affiliated with Andhra University while continuing to balance his growing cricketing commitments.

Tripurana Vijay began his competitive cricketing journey representing Andhra Pradesh across various age-group levels in domestic tournaments. He caught the attention of local coaches with his natural drift and accuracy as a young right-arm off-spinner. He eventually progressed to make his senior professional debut for the Andhra senior state team.

His career witnessed a major turning point during the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy season in a memorable match against Rajasthan. Vijay delivered a sensational bowling performance, claiming a magnificent match haul of 10 wickets for 84 runs, which included two individual five-wicket hauls. This exceptional feat instantly thrust him into the national spotlight and attracted heavy scouting from various IPL franchises.

In the shorter formats, Vijay proved to be equally effective, delivering several stellar spells in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He picked up 12 wickets in eight matches during his breakthrough season, highlighted by an outstanding spell of 4 wickets for just 8 runs against Nagaland.
