Tanzim Hasan Sakib

Tanzim Hasan Sakib obtained a talent pool scholarship in his Primary Education Completion exam from Adityapur Government Primary School in Balaganj. He subsequently enrolled at Balaganj Government DN Model High School for his secondary education. Currently, he is pursuing a higher degree in the Islamic History and Culture Department at the prestigious University of Dhaka.

Tanzim Hasan Sakib initiated his formal cricketing education by gaining admission to the prestigious Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP) after passing regional selections. His immense potential was evident early on, leading to his inclusion in the national under-17 squad for a tour of India in 2016. He subsequently represented the under-19 team in crucial tours to England and Sri Lanka, gaining invaluable overseas exposure.

The pinnacle of his youth career arrived when he was selected for the 2020 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup hosted in South Africa. He played an instrumental role in the tournament, securing seven vital wickets as Bangladesh claimed their historic maiden World Cup title. Following this triumph, he made his first-class debut for the Sylhet Division in early 2021, swiftly establishing himself in the domestic circuit.

His highly anticipated international debut occurred in September 2023 during an Asia Cup One Day International match against powerhouse India. He immediately made an impact, taking crucial wickets and demonstrating an impressive ability to handle immense pressure on the international stage. Later that same year, he earned his Twenty20 International cap during an away series against New Zealand, further expanding his repertoire.

The 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup served as a major turning point, establishing him as a premier fast bowler on the global stage. He delivered a spectacular campaign, claiming 11 wickets at a phenomenal economy rate, including a historic spell of 21 dot balls in a single match. His extraordinary bowling figures of 4 for 7 in that tournament remain among the best in World Cup history.

Continuing his meteoric rise, he was prominently featured in the national squad for the highly competitive 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. Domestically, he continues to command high value in franchise tournaments, representing teams like Rajshahi Warriors in the Bangladesh Premier League for the 2026 season. Tanzim Hasan Sakib was born in the serene Tilakchanpur village of Balaganj Upazila in Sylhet, to parents Gauch Ali and Selina Begum.
