Shehab Ellethy received his formal athletic and technical education at the prestigious Aspire Academy in Qatar, graduating around 2017. The academy's rigorous goalkeeping curriculum focused on modern techniques, distribution under pressure, and elite reflex training. Shehab Ellethy began his senior professional career with Al-Duhail SC, joining their first-team setup during the 2017–2018 season. As a young goalkeeper at a championship-contending club, his early opportunities were limited, but training alongside seasoned internationals provided invaluable experience. He made intermittent appearances in domestic cup competitions, gradually adapting to the pace of the Qatar Stars League.

Recognizing the critical need for regular match experience, Ellethy embarked on a significant loan spell with Al-Kharaitiyat between 2019 and 2021. Internationally, Ellethy progressed through Qatar's youth ranks, representing the U19 and U20 squads. His consistent club form eventually caught the attention of the senior national team selectors. He made his official debut for the Qatar national team in June 2024 during a World Cup qualifying match against India.

Heading into the latter half of 2026, Shehab Ellethy remains a vital part of Qatar's broader national team squad. He was named in the preliminary roster for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, providing essential goalkeeping depth alongside veterans like Meshaal Barsham and Saad Al-Sheeb.
