Rubya attended the University of Dhaka, where she pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree, graduating in 2021. She balanced her academic responsibilities with a rigorous training schedule, often representing the university in inter-collegiate sports competitions. Rubya Haider began her professional journey in the domestic circuits of Bangladesh, playing for Khulna Division Women for several seasons. Her consistent performance in the National Women's Cricket League caught the eyes of the national selectors, eventually leading to her inclusion in the Bangladesh A squad. In a historic opening match against Pakistan on October 2, 2025, Rubya made her WODI debut and played a match-winning knock of 54 not out. This innings was critical as it led Bangladesh to only their second-ever victory in World Cup history. Throughout the tournament, she was the team's top performer, including a gritty 44 against the formidable Australian bowling attack. By early 2026, she has become an indispensable part of the squad's core leadership group.
