Radamel Falcao García Zárate

Falcao joined the prestigious River Plate youth academy in Argentina in 2001. He spent four years developing his striking prowess in their system before making his professional debut for the senior team in 2005.

Falcao's professional journey began in earnest with Argentine powerhouse River Plate, where he made his senior debut in 2005. He helped the team secure the 2007-08 Clausura tournament, showcasing his immense potential as a traditional center forward. His explosive performances caught the eye of FC Porto, who brought him to European football in 2009.

At Porto, he quickly evolved into a goal-scoring machine, setting the record for the most goals in a single UEFA Europa League campaign. He was widely considered the best pure number nine in world football at that time, competing directly with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo for scoring honors. He then moved to AS Monaco in 2013, a highly publicized transfer that was unfortunately interrupted by a severe knee injury.

Following challenging loan spells at Manchester United and Chelsea, he returned to Monaco to successfully lead them to an unforgettable Ligue 1 title in the 2016-2017 season. He later enjoyed productive spells at Galatasaray in Turkey and Rayo Vallecano in Spain, continuing to find the back of the net consistently. Throughout these moves, his striking instincts remained incredibly sharp.

In 2024, Falcao made an emotional and highly anticipated return to Colombia to join Millonarios. As of 2026, he continues to lead the line for the Bogotá-based club, thrilling local fans with his veteran presence. He also firmly holds his legacy as Colombia's all-time leading international goalscorer with 36 goals in over 100 caps.

Radamel Falcao was born to Radamel García, a former professional footballer who named him after the legendary Brazilian midfielder Paulo Roberto Falcão. His Christian faith plays a central role in his life, and he is deeply involved in various charitable activities, frequently participating in youth outreach programs.

He is married to Argentine singer Lorelei Tarón, whom he met during his time playing for River Plate. The couple has a large and close-knit family, sharing five children together. They are known for keeping a wholesome and family-oriented public image.
