Priyansh Arya

Priyansh Arya completed his schooling at Kulachi Hansraj Model School in Ashok Vihar, Delhi, balancing his studies with cricket. He subsequently pursued higher education by enrolling at Swami Shraddhanand College (2022), affiliated with Delhi University. He successfully completed his Bachelor of Arts degree, maintaining a commendable balance between athletics and academics.

Priyansh Arya's professional cricket journey commenced in November 2021 when he made his T20 debut for the Delhi senior team. Playing in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he quickly made a mark with his fearless approach at the crease. He efficiently established himself as a highly reliable top-order option for his state side.

Two years later, he made a memorable List A debut in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He struck a rapid 45 off just 32 balls to guide Delhi to a comfortable victory over Bihar. His true breakthrough arrived during the 2024-2025 domestic season, where he emerged as Delhi's highest run-getter.

He amassed 325 runs at an astonishing strike rate of 176.63, catching the eye of national scouts. The highlight of this prolific run was an explosive century against Uttar Pradesh, featuring ten massive sixes. This stellar domestic form inevitably attracted the attention of multiple Indian Premier League franchises.

At the TATA IPL 2025 mega-auction, Arya triggered a fierce bidding war before Punjab Kings secured him for INR 3.8 Crore. He immediately justified this investment by scoring 475 runs in his debut season, including a breathtaking century against Chennai. In the 2026 IPL season, Arya continued his phenomenal run of form at the top.

He consistently provided rapid starts, forming a highly successful uncapped opening partnership with Prabhsimran Singh that crossed 1000 runs. Notable innings in 2026 included a 37-ball 93 against Lucknow and a quickfire 56 against Delhi. His consistent performances have put him on the radar for potential national team selection.

Priyansh Arya was born into a middle-class family deeply rooted in the education sector in New Delhi. His father, Pawan Kumar, is a dedicated government school teacher, and his mother, Radha, is also a professional educator. Recognizing his immense potential early on, his father enrolled him in a local coaching academy to support his athletic development.

Currently, Priyansh remains unmarried and highly focused on establishing a long-lasting professional cricket career in India. He heavily credits his grounded upbringing and his parents' unwavering support for keeping him disciplined amidst his rapid sporting rise.
