Mohammad Saif Hassan

He completed his formal education in Bangladesh while simultaneously pursuing his demanding cricket career. The Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP) played a crucial role in his early athletic development.

Hassan's journey to international recognition began in the youth ranks, where his leadership qualities quickly became apparent. In December 2015, he was named in the Bangladesh squad for the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup, showcasing his promise at a young age. He further solidified his credentials by captaining the Bangladesh U-19 side during the 2016 Asia Cup and later leading the squad for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. These formative experiences at the global youth level provided him with invaluable exposure to high-pressure situations.

Transitioning to senior domestic cricket, he made an indelible mark during the 2016–17 National Cricket League. Playing for Dhaka Division, he crafted a magnificent 204, becoming the youngest Bangladeshi to score a first-class double century. He continued to amass runs steadily across the National Cricket League and the Bangladesh Cricket League.

His foray into the shortest format began when he made his Twenty20 debut for Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club in the 2018–19 Dhaka Premier Division Twenty20 Cricket League. His adaptable batting style soon caught the attention of franchise owners, leading to his selection by the Khulna Tigers in the 2019–20 Bangladesh Premier League. Over the years, he has been a consistent performer in the BPL, representing teams like Fortune Barishal and Dhaka Capitals. This franchise experience has been instrumental in honing his power-hitting skills.

The long-awaited international call-up arrived when he made his debut for the Bangladesh national team during their tour of Pakistan in February 2020. Despite initial challenges, he showed flashes of brilliance and was subsequently included in the ODI and T20I squads. He marked his T20I debut in November 2021 against Pakistan, further expanding his role within the national setup. His ability to anchor the innings and accelerate when required made him a valuable multi-format option.

In recent years, he has continued to be a recurring selection for Bangladesh, balancing his duties across all three formats. Notably, he led the Bangladesh side during the Asian Games 2023 and has been a central figure in the team's restructuring efforts leading up to 2026. Despite occasional dips in form, the national selectors have consistently backed his talent, awarding him a Grade D central contract in 2026.
