Khurram Shahzad attended local schools in Malakwal before moving to Sargodha to play club cricket due to better facilities. He later shifted to Lahore, where he joined the Aligarh Club in 2017 to receive professional coaching and transition to hard-ball cricket.

Khurram Shahzad's domestic career began with his debut for Habib Bank Limited in 2018. He spent several years as a leading wicket-taker in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy, representing teams like Balochistan and Central Punjab. His consistent performance and ability to bowl at 140 kph finally led to his Test debut for Pakistan against Australia in December 2023 at Perth, where his swing bowling was noted by legends like Glenn McGrath.
