Khalid Muneer Ali Abubakr Mazeed

Khalid Muneer received his elite athletic development at the prestigious Aspire Academy in Doha, Qatar. Balancing rigorous academic coursework with professional-level football training, he graduated from the academy around 2017. The world-class coaching he received there laid the critical foundation for his technical proficiency and tactical understanding of the modern game.

Khalid Muneer's professional career began to take shape after graduating from the youth ranks of Al-Duhail SC (formerly Lekhwiya SC). He made his professional debut in 2014, but recognizing the need for consistent playing time to accelerate his development, he actively sought competitive challenges. This ambition led him to pursue loan spells in Spain, joining CE Júpiter and Atlético Astorga between 2017 and 2018, which provided invaluable exposure to European tactical structures and physical demands.

Returning to Qatar, he sought to establish himself in the domestic league. In July 2019, he secured a loan move to Al-Wakrah SC, a decision that would define his prime years. During the 2019–2020 season, he featured regularly, contributing goals and assists that helped the club secure a mid-table finish. His performances were recognized when he was named the QNB Stars League's best Under-23 player for October and November 2019.

His successful loan spell transitioned into a permanent transfer to Al-Wakrah in July 2021. Since then, he has become a permanent fixture in their starting lineup. In the 2021–2022 season, his contributions were vital in helping Al-Wakrah achieve an impressive 3rd-place finish in the Qatar Stars League. His consistent club form naturally caught the attention of national team selectors.

Muneer made his senior international debut for the Qatar national team in December 2021 during the FIFA Arab Cup, entering as a substitute in a victory over Iraq. He quickly integrated into the squad's tactical plans, demonstrating his ability to perform under the pressures of international competition. He was subsequently selected for the 2023 Gulf Cup and the 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

His crowning international achievement came when he was named to the Qatar squad that successfully defended their title at the 2023 AFC Asian Cup. He played crucial minutes, including starting in the quarter-final victory against Uzbekistan. Heading through 2026, Khalid Muneer remains an integral part of Al-Wakrah and the national team's forward planning.
