Juan Guillermo Cuadrado Bello

Cuadrado began his early football education at Atlético Urabá before moving to the youth academy of Independiente Medellín. It was there that he honed his technical skills and transitioned into a professional role, ultimately making his senior debut in 2008.

Juan Cuadrado began his professional career with Independiente Medellín in Colombia, where his standout performances quickly caught the attention of European scouts. In 2009, he moved to Italy to join Udinese, beginning what would become a long and highly successful association with Italian football. After a brief loan spell at Lecce, he transferred to Fiorentina in 2012, where his explosive pace and attacking flair turned him into one of Serie A's most exciting wingers.

His brilliant form at Fiorentina earned him a high-profile move to Premier League side Chelsea in early 2015. Although he won the Premier League and League Cup, his time in England was brief, and he soon returned to Italy on loan to Juventus. This move completely reinvigorated his career, leading to a permanent transfer and a highly decorated, multi-year spell in Turin.

During his extensive time at Juventus from 2015 to 2023, Cuadrado became an indispensable player, winning five consecutive Serie A titles and multiple Coppa Italia trophies. He seamlessly adapted from a pure winger to an attacking right-back under various managers, utilizing his elite crossing ability and defensive work rate. His leadership, consistency, and big-game experience made him a fan favorite and a key component of the team's domestic dominance.

After leaving Juventus, Cuadrado had brief but impactful stints with Inter Milan and Atalanta, adding to his impressive Serie A resume and securing another Scudetto with Inter. In the summer of 2025, he joined Pisa, bringing his vast championship experience to the club. He has continued to provide excellent wide play and veteran leadership in the 2025-2026 season.

Internationally, Cuadrado has been a mainstay for the Colombia national team for over a decade, amassing well over 100 caps. He played crucial roles in the 2014 and 2018 FIFA World Cups, famously tying the record for most assists at the 2014 tournament. He has also been a veteran leader for Colombia across multiple Copa América campaigns.

Cuadrado was born in Necoclí but grew up in Tumaco; tragically, his father was killed when Juan was just five years old. His mother, Marcela, played a massive role in supporting his dreams, often working multiple jobs to keep him enrolled in local football academies. He is deeply religious and frequently credits his Christian faith for his success, resilience, and positive outlook on life.

He is married to his longtime partner, Melissa Botero, and the couple shares two children together, a daughter named Lucia and a son named Lucas. The family is known for being tight-knit, often seen celebrating together on the pitch after major trophy wins. Outside of football, Cuadrado is heavily recognized for his vibrant personality and signature dance celebrations, which have made him a beloved cultural figure.

He is also known for his extensive philanthropic efforts in his home country. Cuadrado founded and runs the Juan Cuadrado Foundation, an organization dedicated to helping underprivileged youth in Colombia achieve their dreams through sports, leadership, and educational programs.
