Fahamedul Islam's primary education took place in Italy after moving there from Bangladesh as a child. He seamlessly integrated into the Italian school system while dedicating his afternoons to elite football academies. His tactical and athletic education was heavily shaped by the youth structures at Spezia and Sampdoria, where he received top-tier coaching that molded him into a versatile professional footballer.

Fahamedul Islam's footballing journey began in earnest when he joined the youth academy of Spezia between 2020 and 2022. Displaying natural aptitude and a relentless work ethic, he was subsequently recruited by Sampdoria. During his time in their under-18 setup, he made significant strides, featuring in 25 matches and scoring four goals during the 2023-2024 season, highlighting his attacking prowess from a defensive position.

Eager to test himself at the senior level, Fahamedul transitioned to professional football in 2024. He signed with Serie D club Ligorna, where he gained invaluable experience against seasoned professionals. His performances earned him a brief spell at Livorno later that year, further exposing him to the tactical complexities of Italian league football.

In February 2025, a crucial career move saw him transfer to Olbia. He made an immediate and sensational impact, scoring a hat-trick for their under-19 squad and nearly netting an equalizer in his senior debut against Paganese. By the 2025-2026 season, he had established himself as a regular starter for Olbia, proving his consistency and value on the left wing.

His club form did not go unnoticed by international selectors. In March 2025, he received his first preliminary call-up to the Bangladesh national team for the AFC Asian Cup qualifiers. Though he narrowly missed the final squad initially, his persistence paid off a few months later.

Fahamedul officially made his senior international debut for Bangladesh on June 4, 2025, playing 60 minutes in a crucial victory over Bhutan. As of 2026, he continues to represent both the under-23 and senior squads, standing as one of the brightest European-trained prospects in South Asian football.
