Deniz Undav

Undav initially spent his early youth years playing for TSV Achim before officially joining the highly respected SV Werder Bremen academy in 2007.

After leaving Bremen, he completed his highly physical, foundational football development at SC Weyhe and TSV Havelse between 2012 and 2015.

Deniz Undav began his incredibly challenging professional football journey in the lower, highly physical tiers of the German football pyramid. After being released from the prestigious Werder Bremen youth academy for reportedly lacking the necessary physical stature, he refused to abandon his massive dreams and joined TSV Havelse in the Regionalliga. He consistently demonstrated his innate goalscoring abilities in the regional leagues, eventually earning a crucial transfer to SV Meppen in the 3. Liga in 2018.

His undeniable, immense potential truly exploded when he courageously moved abroad to completely revitalize his career, officially joining Belgian club Union Saint-Gilloise in the summer of 2020. During his phenomenal, record-breaking tenure in Belgium, he ruthlessly dominated the attacking lines, finishing as the league's top scorer and crucially propelling his club to unprecedented domestic success. His incredibly clinical finishing and elite spatial awareness instantly drew the immediate attention of major European scouts.

In January 2022, English Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion officially secured his highly coveted signature, recognizing his elite goalscoring instincts. After spending his initial time intensely adapting to the immense physical demands of English football and gaining invaluable tactical experience, he boldly opted for a highly anticipated return to his home country, joining VfB Stuttgart on an initial loan deal for the 2023-24 season.

His magnificent debut season with VfB Stuttgart proved to be an absolute revelation, as he consistently scored brilliant, vital goals and rapidly formed a devastating, highly feared attacking partnership. Deniz Undav was born in Varel, Germany, to a highly proud family of Kurdish-Yazidi descent who originally immigrated from Turkey, granting him a deeply rich, wonderfully diverse cultural heritage. He fiercely values his unique multicultural background and frequently credits his deeply hardworking parents for heavily instilling the absolutely incredible resilience and massive mental toughness required to successfully navigate his incredibly challenging early career.
