Auston Levi-jesaiah Trusty

Penncrest High School (2012-2016) - Excelled as a multi-sport athlete and served as student council president before committing to a professional soccer career.

Auston Trusty began his soccer journey in the Philadelphia Union youth setup, joining their newly formed academy in 2013. His elite defensive potential was quickly recognized, and he made history in 2016 by becoming the fifth homegrown player signing in the history of the Philadelphia Union. He officially broke into the Union's starting lineup in 2018, playing every single minute of the MLS regular season as a 20-year-old.

In November 2019, Trusty was traded to the Colorado Rapids, where he continued to develop into one of the most reliable center-backs in Major League Soccer. His dominant performances in Colorado eventually attracted significant overseas interest, leading to a dream transfer to English Premier League giant Arsenal in January 2022.

While he remained on loan with the Rapids initially, Arsenal subsequently loaned him to Birmingham City in the EFL Championship for the 2022-2023 season. Trusty thrived in the physically demanding English second tier, making 47 appearances and brilliantly winning the club's Player of the Season award. This stellar campaign led to a permanent transfer to newly promoted Premier League side Sheffield United in August 2023.

After gaining valuable Premier League experience with Sheffield United, Trusty secured a five-year transfer to Scottish powerhouse Celtic FC on the final day of the 2024 summer transfer window. He seamlessly transitioned into the Celtic starting XI, making his UEFA Champions League debut and playing a crucial role in securing the 2025-2026 Scottish Premiership title.

Internationally, Trusty debuted for the senior USMNT in March 2023, providing an assist in a blowout victory over Grenada. His consistent European club form under high-pressure environments ultimately convinced Mauricio Pochettino to include him in the highly competitive USMNT 2026 FIFA World Cup squad.

Auston Trusty was born and raised in Media, Pennsylvania, and is the youngest of six children in a highly athletic family. Remarkably, all of his older siblings played collegiate soccer, providing a fiercely competitive and supportive environment that shaped his early development. During his youth, he was a multi-sport standout at Penncrest High School, excelling not only in soccer but also in basketball, football, and baseball.

Beyond his athletic pursuits, Trusty is known for his leadership qualities and entrepreneurial spirit. He served as his high school's student council president and has invested in multiple business ventures during his professional soccer career. He frequently attributes his success to a resilient 'why not me' underdog mentality, pushing him to overcome obstacles and seize massive opportunities in Europe.

Trusty is happily married to his wife, Emily Berardino, and the couple shares one daughter together. Despite the intense spotlight of playing for a massive club like Celtic, he maintains a balanced family life in Scotland. He remains deeply connected to his Pennsylvania roots, serving as a powerful inspiration for aspiring young athletes in the Philadelphia region.
